Opus one productions concert promoter11/14/2023 ![]() Though newer to the classical music world, Michele has found a home in the new music community, particularly where classical and other music communities converge. She then combined her passion for education and music in her current role at the Peabody Institute, where she develops marketing strategy for the Conservatory, Preparatory, and hundreds of concerts per year. Upon moving to Baltimore, Michele detoured into education policy work for a new research institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Education where she interfaced with nationwide governmental and non-profit leaders and managed administration for the team’s research. While in Pittsburgh, she directed marketing for a wide variety of concerts including Dolly Parton, Rhiannon Giddens, Tyler the Creator, Bob Dylan, Ghostface Killah, and GWAR. She created the Pittsburgh’s Very Own local showcase series, which went on to be recognized as “Best Music Series” in 2018 by Sound Scene Express. During her tenure, she marketed shows from 150 capacity clubs to a 15,000 capacity arena. ![]() She then transferred to Pittsburgh where she ultimately became a marketing and production manager for independent concert promoter Opus One Productions. She got her start in the music industry while studying marketing in New York City and touring the country on summer breaks to assist rock band Me Talk Pretty. Michele Scherch is a music and arts marketer, organizer, and events producer.
